From Shame to Science: Why I Created Haura Lab

It started in a barber’s chair.

I remember sitting there, just needing a quick cleanup. But instead of small talk, my barber leaned in, tapped the top of my head and said:

"You’re starting to thin out pretty bad here, There's really nothing left to cut, huh?"

I laughed it off in the moment—but inside, it hit me hard.

From that point on, I couldn’t unsee it. The receding hairline. The thinning crown. The scalp starting to peek through. I started avoiding mirrors. I bought hats and bandanas, not for style, but to hide.

I stopped going to any barbershop and started cutting my own hair due to shame and scared that the incident will happen again.

What used to be part of my identity—my hair—had become a source of constant insecurity.

🔎 I Tried Everything… and Got Burned

Like most people dealing with early hair loss, I turned to what was available:

  • Drugstore “anti-thinning” shampoos (most just loaded with harsh sulfates)
  • Trendy oils and DIY “natural” treatments
  • Expensive DHT blockers with harsh side effects
  • Even clinical hair regrowth brands
  • Minoxidil and Finasteride

Nothing gave me real results—and most made things worse. My scalp got irritated, shedding increased, decrease libido, depression, anxiety and I felt like I was constantly gambling with my appearance.

I kept asking:
